Mcfly's Fletcher Invites Dad To Rock Out On Stage
Mcfly star Tom Fletcher made his dad's rock dreams come true on Friday, 1 April, when he invited him onstage to perform with the band at London's massive Wembley Stadium. How sweet is that!? :)

McFly postpone tour in Japan
British pop stars Mcfly have postponed their upcoming tour of Japan in the aftermath of the earthquake/tsunami disaster last month 11 March, according to singer/guitarist Tom Fletcher.
The band was due to jet to the Far East next week 11 April to play a number of shows in Osaka and Tokyo.
But they have now decided to scrap the concerts as relief work continues to help survivors of the massive tremor and tidal wave, which left thousands dead.
Fletcher says, "We've got the world, Europe, south America (to come) but we're going to have to postpone the trip to Japan."
MCFly's Japan tour was due to kick off in Osaka on 13 April - poor Japan :(

Joe Jonas gives Winston a little pick me up as they leave Kings Road Cafe after grabbing a bite to eat on Wednesday afternoon (April 6).
The 21-year-old musician tweeted exciting news yesterday. “Finished the album photo shoot today. So excited. A dream come true indeed. Can’t wait to show you all!”

Back in the days when Old English was spoken, the "k" in these sorts of words was not silent, so they would be pronounced as k'nife, k'night, and so on. This pronunciation was even common in the time of William Shakespeare! At some point, people decided that this sort of articulation was too cumbersome, so they stopped voicing the beginning consonant! The same thing happened with "gn" words such as gnome and gnarled. However, other Germanic languages such as German, Swedish, and Dutch kept the "k" and still pronounce it to this day.
This phenomenon occurred with other consonant clusters too. Would you believe that the word 'ring' used to be spelled 'h-r-i-n-g'? Once enunciation of the beginning consonant was ceased, the spelling was changed altogether! This also happened with words like hlud (loud), hnutu (nut), and hwenne (when). Even so, this sort of spelling alteration could not occur for words like knight and know, because then you would never be able to distinguish them from "night" and "now"!
